Pricing Jobs

Well when i started my business in Graphics i researched into pricing a lot. Personally when your a small local business i charge a standing set rate. That way it doesn't effect my customers purely a simply because adding to the price because of changes is the same as builders adding extra's to your bill and its annoying and pretty much the same as scamming. You get paid for the time you spend on the project so why charge more on top?
As you build your reputation up then i would recommend charging an hourly rate just like most successful designers starting around £10 an hour and rising depending on experience.

Working with your pricing this way gives your business the time to build a successful portfolio and have your name recognized for your work.
Even if that means altering the final image. The saying 'Design for love, not money' is what all designers MUST remember. Also the fact that not everyone likes what you like, research is a very vital part. If your client is not happy with the result and wishes to change then just change it, then you have another happy client that will recommend you. The whole point of becoming a designer is to design projects for others, not yourself.
